Female cardinal
I just saw our resident cardinal pair today! This is the earliest I have ever seen the female back. The male normally arrives earlier to reestablish his territory then his mate arrives sometime in April. Cardinals mate for life and of course are the perfect colour for Valentines.

The ground is still frozen but there are a few intrepid flowers that pop up as soon as possible in my zone
