Containers

Containers

IMG_3319Remember to water your container plantings every day, maybe even twice a day on scorching summer days. Nothing will kill your beautiful plants faster than a hot dry container. Think about sitting in the middle of Death Valley in July!

Container plantings are your personal bit of living art, a garden in miniature. You can use colourful annuals, perennials, textured foliage for a sophisticated look or a mixture of any of these. Just keep in mind where the planter is going: use sun lovers for sunny areas and shade lovers to brighten up a shady spot.

More on how to plant a container in my next blog. For those who live in southern Ontario, your garden centres like Sheridan Nurseries still have a great selection of plants for containers and your garden.
